a) All publications use Wind data, directly or indirectly. In the publications starting in 2005, publications that mention the use of OMNI data measured after mid 2004 were included if: (1) the data set included several months of OMNI data [which almost certainly includes Wind data]; (2) the paper used 1 Hr. Avg. OMNI data which is mostly composed from Wind; or (3) for case studies, the paper used OMNI data that was derived from Wind [I checked each].

c) Std. Dev. = Standard deviation of the number of publications per year
d) Median = Median number of publications per year
